While
casting the “Queen
of Hearts” sculpture, I handed the model a jar of Vaseline to apply to
her pubic hair. I will apply Vaseline to the model’s eyebrows and eyelashes,
but feel it's more “professional” to ask the model to Vaseline her own pubic
hair. I found it extremely erotic to watch her reach up and apply this Vaseline to
herself. After we completed the first cast, I asked her if she’d mind taking it
one step further. She said, “Sure. If more people masturbated there would be
less war.” Um… okay.
This was the very first sculpture that
I ever sold in Soho, and it has remained the most requested piece in my portfolio.
