This was another sculpture
that evolved into something totally different after it’s conception. The
original piece was a full figure of the sleeping model, but at 6’ it turned out to be
way too big for the space available. I love the whole “box” concept that I
use for many of my sculptures. I decided to simply “shrink” the model down by
removing her legs below her knees and then added the box to create a lingering
claustrophobic atmosphere around her. This is the beautiful Susan and once again I've place her in a box.
