Heat Wave - Michelle A decade ago, my friend Michelle and
I were asked to shoot a life-casting segment for "The Living Edge". The producer had us set
to shot our segment on a roof-top over-looking the East Village in NY, but the temperature
was 105 degrees that day and the tar-paper roof probably topped out near 120! Needless to
say, we decided NOT to shoot out segment outside and retreated to the comfort of an
air-conditioned room instead.
While re-working one of Michelle's sculptures this year,
I remembered how we were set to shoot on that roof-top, and I'm sure we would have melted
up there ... melting away in the heat wave ... a new sculptural idea was born. |
