It was a great
honor to work with the beautiful Laura Lee. I first discovered her portfolio on the
pages of OMP . In the past, I have
added cloth and materials to the finished cast, but in this case, I attempted to cast the
model wearing her clothes, so they became a part of the mold. I will say, this is much
harder than it sounds. The model had to be cut out of her clothes and they later had to be
carefully peeled back from the mold without tearing it.
The golden metallic
finish was an experiment I tried, inspired by the beautiful artwork of Brent and Shirley
Cairns at Naked
Art down in New Zealand.
